Artist Statement

I don't create art. Art creates me. 
 

Being an artist is not only my profession, rather it's a vital part of my existence. Living in the Pacific Northwest of the United States, I believe art has no boundaries.  My soul breathes through my artwork, escaping from the physical paradigms of time and space. 

 

The connection to colors and patterns is not a new one. I was born with artistic impulses. My journey to explore the world of artful expressions formally began in 2017. Since then I've experimented with many mediums.

 

The Mix Media Abstract Art is the form that truly allows my spirit to explore, cultivate and foster unique emotions and viewpoints. I have exposed myself to new experiences using watercolors as well as encaustics. 

 

The blank canvas asks so many different questions. Each to be answered truthfully.  I allow myself to immerse into an artistic world that is unfiltered yet truly amazing. Peeking into the secret compartments of my mind my hands continue to splatter colors and create images unraveling the mysteries of life. 

 

The alchemy of art magically transforms the external and internal stimuli into a universal elixir imbued with spiritual and aesthetic elements. I have a natural tendency to envision objects beyond the superficial level. Absorbing the invisible vibes that illuminate my artwork. 

 

Art is not built-in isolation. In the state of solitude, I find myself surrounded by a multitude of ideas. The seeds of inspiration take the form of an art piece, by connecting dots and converting them into superior visual experiences. 

 

I aim to meticulously craft visual imagery of the various raw elements of the different layers of society.  To rouse emotions and spread the vibes of societal awareness artistically. My artwork is not limited to my internal synopsis; instead, it considers the holistic view of life. 

 

In my art pieces, the combination of colors, strokes, and textures come to life, telling the stories of love, fear, surprise, joy, and sadness. Connecting to the viewers through the imaginary strings of experiences, sensations, and states of mind.

 

The modern-day world might be shifting to an auto mode, but the deep reflections and thoughtful impressions of handmade artwork are immortal.  Treading on the path of life, I envision making a mark with my artful impressions of spirituality, appreciation of life, and personal strength.

Angela Swanson is a USA-based artist. She takes pride in transforming the external and internal stimuli into a universal elixir of artwork imbued with spiritual and aesthetic elements.

 

With inborn artistic impulses. Her journey to explore the world of artful expressions formally began in 2017. Since then, she has experimented with almost all forms of paintings. As a self-taught artist, she allows her soul to breathe through her artwork, escaping from the physical paradigms of time and space. 

 

Her medium of interest is mixed media art where she explores, cultivates, and fosters unique emotions and viewpoints. However, she has also experimented with working in watercolors as well as encaustics. Currently exploring the world of mannequin art, she meticulously crafts 3D visual imagery.

 

Her artwork is not limited to her internal synopsis; instead, it considers the holistic view of life. In her art pieces, the combinations of colors, strokes, and textures come to life, telling the stories of love, fear, surprise, joy, and sadness. Connecting to the viewers through the imaginary strings of experiences, sensations, and states of mind.

 

Her artwork is regularly exhibited at Mosaic Art Alliance, Society of Washington Artists, and North Collective Studio websites. She is the artist in rotation at Ford Gallery of Art in Portland, Oregon, and Phoenix Rising Art Gallery in Vancouver, Washington. She is also a member of the Washington State Artist Trust.  In her spare time, she works as a webmaster of two online galleries using her creativity to design and create online art shows.
